Fred Kozak and Jeremy Taitinger will be participating in the 2009 National CBA Litigation Section and Insurance Law Section CLE Conference. They will be speaking in the "Hot Topics" presentation on October 23 and 24, 2009. The conference will be held at The Rim Rock in Banff, Alberta.
On June 17, 2009 Mark Hildebrand and Stephanie Gerow spoke at the Construction Law Strategies for 2009: Risk Redefined at the BMO Centre in Calgary. Mark and Stephanie spoke on "Allocation of Liability through Bonds and Insurance."
Sheila McNaughtan and Carol Zukwiski spoke at the Alberta Municipal Lawyer's Conference, held in Red Deer June 4 and 5, 2009. Sheila's topic will be "The Standard Review" and Carol's topic will be "Bill 23 - Proposed Changes to the Assessment Complaint and Appeal System".
E. (Sonny) Mirth chaired the LESA "Update 2009". "Update 2009" is being held at the Shaw Conference Centre on June 11, 2009.
Sheila McNaughtan participated in the LESA "Appellate Advocacy" seminar on May 22, 2009. She will be a panellist for the "Motion and Chambers" section.

Tim Mavko spoke at the Legal Education Society of Alberta "Construction Law" seminar on April 7, 2009 (Edmonton) and April 16, 2009 (Calgary). His topic will be "Notice Provisions in Construction Contracts".
On January 15, 2009, Doris Bonora spoke at CAFE's "Papering the Relationship: Dealing with Pre or Post Nuptial agreements. " The seminar was held at the Edmonton Petroleum Club from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm.
Don Lucky and Tim Mavko spoke at the Canadian Institute's 2nd Annual Managing Risk in Construction Contracts seminar.
The seminar took place at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton on November 18-19, 2008.
Nick Parker will be a panellist at The Law Society of Alberta's Media and Law Seminar on October 18, 2008. Along with three other panellist's, Nick will address the question "Does the Legal System Straitjacket Full Reporting?" The session will be 2 p.m - 3:15 p.m. at the University of Alberta.
Tim Mavko was a guest instructor at the University of Notre Dame's Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop in August, 2008.
Fred Kozak presented at the American Association for Justice in Philadelphia on July 13, 2008. His presentation topic was "Litigation Strategy and Effective Advocacy".
Fred Kozak was a keynote speaker at the legal education conference for the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association (APTLA). The conference, entitled "APTLA Med School: Excellence Through Understanding" was held on July 5, 2008 at the Delta Halifax, NS. Fred's topic is "Reason Over Discrimination: S:15 and Damgages Caps."
