RMRF assists in launching the first Inuit-language television channel in Canada

On January 18, Nunavut Independent Television (NITV) launched Canada’s first all-Inuit Inuktut TV channel, Uvagut TV.

RMRF Partner Tess Layton, who focuses on media law, was proud to assist on the project. Only the second Indigenous television service among 762 broadcasting in Canada, Uvagut TV broadcasts 24/7, with five hours of children’s programming a day.
