Your choice of articles will affect the rest of your professional life. We encourage you to ask yourself the tough questions and do the necessary research. Learn more about RMRF, and feel free to contact us with any additional questions you may have.

RMRF does not participate in a match program. Interviews for articling students are held during the recruitment period as set by the Law Society of Alberta. The Law Society of Alberta generally announces the dates for the recruitment period in January of each year and the recruitment period is normally the first two weeks in June. Further information on the rules for student hiring can be found in sections 49.1 and 49.2 of the Rules of the Law Society of Alberta.

RMRF strives to provide an environment that enables articling students to complete their CPLED requirements while at the same time enjoying a productive articling experience. RMRF delegates lawyers with specific expertise in each CPLED module to assist as a resource to students. RMRF also recognizes the time commitment that CPLED requires and gives articling students the opportunity to devote the time necessary to successfully complete the CPLED program.

We thank all applicants but only those selected will be contacted.

A Team Environment

Two differentiating qualities of RMRF is our focus in particular areas of law and a unique team-based approach that ensures excellence in these areas.

To maintain our standards of excellence, our lawyers are divided into four teams whose practice areas include one or more of our related areas of focus. The teams communicate continuously to ensure that all members have access to the combined skillset of the team. Clients are also treated as clients of the firm rather than clients of a particular lawyer.

Our team-based approach and our structure as a medium-sized firm focusing on niche areas bring us great pride. We believe these tactics enable us to provide services of a high quality not only to our local clients in Edmonton, but also to clients who operate nationally and internationally. We also believe it lays the groundwork for long relationships with our clients. Many of them, whether they are individual, municipal or corporate, have had their legal work done by RMRF for decades.

If this is an approach to law that appeals to you, please contact any of the following partners to express your interest in pursuing a career at RMRF:

All inquires will be kept in complete confidence.

Looking for the Right People

Culture is important to us at RMRF. If you feel like you would be a good fit for our team, but don’t see a particular position, don’t let that hold you back. We’re always willing to consider people that are the right fit. Send us your resume and cover letter along with details of the type of work you’re looking for and someone will get back to you if there is an opportunity that makes sense.

In our goal to provide our clients with legal services of the highest quality, RMRF has assembled a staff of paralegals, legal assistants, and management and administration professionals who work closely with our lawyers and students. For more information on employment opportunities at all staff levels within RMRF, please contact Kelly Diewert, our Director of Operations.
